Saving your tooth
There are many ways to lose a tooth. The most common are car accidents, sports injuries, and slip-and-fall injuries.
If you or a family member knocked out a tooth, the first thing you need to do is check for other injuries. If there are any signs of head trauma, fractures, or other injuries, seek medical help immediately. If not, book an emergency appointment with us or come by our office as soon as possible. In the meantime:
- Pick up the tooth by its crown. Avoid touching the root!
- Cleanse the tooth with water (don’t scrub the tooth).
- Replace the tooth gently into its socket. If it’s not possible, bring it in a cup of milk.

“Will I need further treatment?”
What to expect
When you come to us, we will do everything in our power to save your tooth. If you bring it within 2 hours after the accident and we are able to successfully implant it, you may not need more treatment. If your tooth was lost or could not be saved, you may need a dental implant to replace it.
Remember to attend your follow-up appointment so Dr. Cho or Dr. Moon can ensure that everything is healing as it should.

Many insurance providers cover dental emergency treatment, but it can vary from patient to patient. At Dental Minds, we are in-network with many major PPO insurance providers. Our front desk staff will review your benefits and estimate if there are any out-of-pocket expenses.
Not insured? Don’t worry. We also accept other payment methods. Ask about our cash prices!
If you don’t have insurance, don’t worry. We offer flexible payment options and cash prices for procedures.
