“What can I expect?”
Lost teeth are much more common than you might think. And we are here to help.
There’s nothing like a visit to Dental Minds for an exam and cleaning. Expect to spend about 90 minutes in our office. We allocate extra time to be thorough and have enough time to communicate and educate everything you need to know about your dental health. You’ll leave feeling confident about your health, wellness, and the care you received. Your dental exam and cleaning includes:
- Time with your dentist to discuss your health and any concerns you have
- Gentle and thorough cleaning and polishing of your teeth
- Full dental exam, including gum health evaluation
- X-rays (when needed) to help our dentists monitor and assess your oral health
- Customized treatment plan to address any issues we find
If you’re seeing us for the first time, your new patient dental cleaning and exam will take around 90 minutes. Don’t forget to take us up on our $149 new patient special offer!

Generally speaking, yes, we recommend most of our patients see us about 2x a year for a dental exam and cleaning. But life happens and people get busy so we never judge if you fall a bit behind on your checkups. And some people do need a little extra attention, so if you’ve suffered from gum disease or tooth decay in the past, we may recommend you come see us a bit more often.

“Does dental insurance pay for cleanings?”
At Dental Minds, we are in-network with many major PPO insurance companies. Depending on your insurance plan, your exam and cleaning will likely be covered in part or in full! Our front office staff will check your benefits and your estimated out-of-pocket cost.
If you don’t have insurance, don’t worry. We offer flexible payment options and cash prices for procedures.

Our practice is following guidance from the CDC and ADA to ensure we provide care that’s as safe as possible during all procedures, including our dental exams and cleanings in Chicago. We take social distancing, sanitation, air purification, and masking very seriously.
